Στην Αθήνα γεννιέται (is born · naît) κάτι καινούργιο (new · nouveau). Είναι ένα κέντρο για επιστήμονες (scientists · scientifiques). Το όνομά (name · nom) του είναι Εστία. Είναι το πρώτο τέτοιο κέντρο σε αυτή την περιοχή (area · région) της Ευρώπης.
Δύο πανεπιστήμια (universities · universités), ένα κέντρο έρευνας και μια γαλλική σχολή το φτιάχνουν (create · créent) μαζί. Η Γαλλική Σχολή Αθηνών είναι πολύ παλιά (old · ancienne). Άνοιξε το 1846.
Στο κέντρο θα έρχονται επιστήμονες από όλο τον κόσμο (world · monde). Δεν θα κάνουν μάθημα (class · cours). Θα έχουν χρόνο (time · temps) να σκεφτούν (think · réfléchir) και να γράψουν. Θα μιλάνε μαζί για μεγάλες ερωτήσεις (questions · questions).
Ποιες ερωτήσεις; Γιατί οι άνθρωποι αλλάζουν (change · changent de) χώρα (country · pays); Γιατί κάποιοι έχουν πολλά λεφτά (money · argent) και άλλοι λίγα (little · peu); Πώς αλλάζει η ζωή (life · vie) μας με την τεχνολογία;
Η γιορτή (celebration · fête) για το νέο κέντρο έγινε στο Πάντειο Πανεπιστήμιο. Ήρθαν (came · sont venus) επιστήμονες από τη Σόφια, την Αμερική και το Παρίσι.
Something new is being born in Athens. It is a center for scientists. Its name is Estia. It is the first center of its kind in this area of Europe.
Two universities, a research center and a French school are creating it together. The French School at Athens is very old. It opened in 1846.
Scientists from all over the world will come to the center. They will not teach classes. They will have time to think and to write. They will talk together about big questions.
Which questions? Why do people change countries? Why do some have a lot of money and others little? How is our life changing with technology?
The celebration for the new center took place at Panteion University. Scientists came from Sofia, America and Paris.
